Nonexistence of a η NN quasibound state
Abstract
We have solved the Faddeev equations for η d elastic scattering using realistic separable interactions for the NN and coupled η N-π N subsystems. We found that including explicitly the pion channel in the integral equations drastically reduces the attraction that is present in the system. As a consequence, the existence of a η NN quasibound state is excluded by the modern η N amplitude analysis.
